and by dipping, I mean I actually went to a Q100 show last night. Before you freak out, it wasn't The Jonas Brothers or New Kids on the Block, I have taste...it was actually the Katy Perry Show, you know, the chick that sang the "I kissed a girl" song...the chick is f'n cool and rocked out! I was so surprised! I like going to these kinds of shows to see what "other" chick rockers are doing, and what I'm up against. I guess you could call it research! But, just wanted to let you know if your teenage daughter, or hell, even son is into her...let em be! They might be able to learn a lil something from them, not just to keep cherry chapstick handy, but about not being manequins and holding your values and morals, I know, odd coming from a girl who swings both ways...

Thanks Therese! I owe you a slave day :) LOL

Re: Hiya!

1. Comment about the music: although it pains me greatly to say, i too have drifted into the world of dance pop. I've been in bands since i was 15 and i've talked mad shit about anything that sells over 50k copies, but i mus say that some of the groups/artists that are coming out now are truely talented. There's a whole sense of reckless abandon that hasn't been around in quite some time. And to be honest, they seem to kick a lot more ass than some current "rock" bands. For example: My gf just got the cd of a group called "Black Kids" and that shit won't get out of my head. There are overtones of gender-bending and superiority not having to do with being able to kick the other dude's ass. In some ways new pop music has a bigger set of balls than alot of the cookie cutter "rock" that's coming out at the moment.

2. Concerning morals: i think that you are right about the whole morals thing. I don't think that a functino of a parent is to make your child a carbon copy of yourself. The point is to give them a solid base from which to grow and let them figure the rest out for themselves, or else they don't truely have any sort of ethic, they just have what has been handed to them.

-I know it was a little long for a 100.5 blog reply but...

Lyndsey's Bio

Hi. I’m Lyndsey. I have a mild case of social retardation, but luckily, I also have a microphone so it all gets captured for you middays on Rock 100.5.

When I’m not in the studio, I’m out horseback riding, drinking, and singing. Sometimes I combine all 3.

Love: hair metal, hockey, expensive beer, cheap liquor, and a good burger

Hate: shopping, jalapenos, football, and real jobs

Favorite Movie: The Hangover

Favorite Artist: Guns N Roses

Favorite Sexual Position: Sleep
