I first climbed on the back.  We lived in Ellerslie, Ga, at the time, and had a gravel driveway, I know now we are supposed to avoid gravel, but, dad made it seem effortless. So, after years of ridin bitch, I decided, you know what? It's about time for me to see what I can do with a bike. So, a few of us at the station got together, signed up for Earl Smalls HD Riders Edge Course. First day was last Thursday, in classroom training, Friday, more of the same...Saturday we had to be in Cartersville at 7:30am geared up and ready to go. I did pretty well, Saturday, except for me stalling about 15 times...so damn annoying! It's that fine line between the friction zone and rollin the throttle that was throwing me. But, I kept up, and got er done. So, after a grueling day of a whole 11 miles of riding  Southside Steve, Kirssin, Tappdaddy, and SSS's #400 all went to Hooters of Cartersville, drank pitchers of Yuengling, knocked a few Jack's back, and sang karaoke. They literally came up to us welcoming and thanking us for performing, saying, "please come back!" They had no idea where we'd come from, us city folk. lol...Sunday, got up, dressed, and ready to go at 7:30, worked on tons of drills, all higher in skill level. Was getting waaay better on clutch/throttle control. Then, we had a drill for Emergency Stops and Swerving. I anticipated a swerve, but was asked to stop. Resulting in me losing control and I rolled, gracefully, I might add. Did no damage to me, but I broke the clutch lever and the casing for the left turn signal...ooops. But, I got back up, and rode. Redeeming myself when it really mattered. Sam and Ray are f'n awesome. Sam told me, after I bit the pavement, "Erin, I'm a straight shooter, if I didn't think you had the skill, strength, or talent to ride, I wouldn't let you..." And I was like, hell yea, I'm riding! So, I did, and passed the test :) Was soooo excited, still am...just a lil tense about the written portion tonight. Graduation is tonight, if we pass...no, WHEN we pass. So, tomorrow, watch out! I'm stealing SSS or Axel's bike and riding to work. This is awesome. You have to sign up for it, SOOOOO worth it...go here, check it out, and see whatcha think.

And look for pictures soon! Will also have video testimonials up on our website soon...

Re: The girl can ride

kiss my ass Ray and Dave! It's graceful if I don't have scratches and bruises...haha...wish we had that recorded, would love to have seen that from your prespective

Re: The girl can ride

Oh sure - David makes a comment and you tell me to kiss it. It was a good inadvertant dismount - with a score of 9.6 - not quite a 10 - if you had stuck the landing that would have been better - you did get lots of points for grace and pose. "Teasing" - you did great!!! Where better to learn from a lost of traction - with individuals that will pick you up, dust you off and get back on - loved your spirit - Ray ""~~~o&o>
