Peteetong, boys and girls! It’s been a long, cold winter, but warmer weather is just around the corner. That means concert season will be starting up soon, and several shows have already been announced.
Queens of the Stone Age just announced they’ll be coming to Atlanta for the first time in nearly three years. QOTSA be playing their self-titled first album in it’s entirety at Center Stage on March 21. Tickets go on sale Feb. 18. Consider yourself lucky if you can score a ticket to this one, because it will certainly sell out.
One of Eric Von Haessler’s favorites, The Flaming Lips, will bring their confetti cannons and balloons to the Tabernacle on May 19. The Lips are known for their incredible live shows, complete with lasers, glow sticks, and weird projections all in the name of fun. This show is likely to sell out as well; tickets are on sale now.
If you need to feed your craving for live music before then, February has some good shows to check out. Instrumental rockers Lotus play the Variety Playhouse Thursday, February 17. If you want something a little funkier, Keller Williams will take over the Variety Playhouse Saturday, Feb 19.
If that doesn’t get you excited, take a chance and attend the Party Erotique at the Tabernacle on Saturday, Feb 26. Party Erotique features music, dancing, costumes and performance art all in the name of celebrating all forms sexuality. So squeeze into your favorite pair of assless chaps put on your gimp mask and leave your inhibitions at home. Just make sure you bring condoms.
