It's getting to be a busy concert season with all the great bands coming through Atlanta and the many festivals throughout the summer. Last night, hometown heroes Manchester Orchestra sold out their first show ever at the Tabernacle. Cage the Elephant and another Atlanta based rock band, O' Brother, also performed.

Last weekend, I was lucky enough to attend the sold-out Hang Out Music Fest in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The white sands of Gulf Shores turned out to be the perfect setting for a perfect combination – live music and the beach.

Alice in Chains, Deftones, Mastodon

Last Tuesday, September 28, the Black Diamond Skye tour took over Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood. Along with Alice in Chains, the Deftones and Atlanta’s very own Mastodon drew a crowd of thousands of headbangers, with our reluctant girlfriends in tow. The large crowd was typically raucous and rowdy, fueled by PBR and low-grade weed, most likely bought in the parking lot.
